We'll walk you through how to connect your EV charger to the Project EV+ app using a 4G module, which requires an electrician or installer to fit the 4G hardware and SIM card
This process requires an electrician or installer to remove the wifi module and install the 4g module and sim once this process has been completed.
- Register for the Project EV+ app
- On the homepage, select ‘add’ in the middle of the screen.
- Enter the charger’s serial number and press ‘ok’
- Ensure you have your wifi name and password to hand, either as a photo or a card
- Turn the charger off at the mains and keep off for now
- Turn your mobile data/4G/5G off on your phone for this process.
- Choose connect by wifi.
- Choose connect manually or connect automatically.
- If choosing connect automactially, then please turn the charger back on and stand next to he charger for the remainder of this process.
- Wait for 90 seconds, then select connect automatically. Your phone will search for the charger’s hotspot. It may say failed a few times before connecting. If it connects, then go to step 16
- If choosing connect manually, select 'go to WLAN' at the top, this should open your wifi page in your phone.
- Turn the charger back on, and stand next to the charger for the rest of this process
- Connect to the charger's wifi hotspot, listed as it's serial number. It will show the wifi hotspot within 5 minutes. The password is 12345678
- It will say there is no internet connection once you have connected to it.
- Once connected successfully, please go back to the Project EV+ app
- Select next.
- Select 4G
- Leave the username and password boxes blank, and in the APN box enter: iot.1nce.net
- Select the setting tab, then expand the server parameter and enter the following url: ws://project-ev.com/ocpp/ws
- Press save. The charger will then restart with the new settings and the electrician/installer will then begin the process of installing the 4G hardware
