An overview of what a PEN fault is, why it causes the charger to flash red twelve times, and what steps to take to resolve it

Frequently Asked Question...

My Project EV charger is not working and is continually flashing red twelve times.

Answer:

The charger has detected a PEN (Protective Earth Neutral) fault and has shut down for safety. This occurs when voltage levels are outside the recommended range. The shutdown is a precaution to prevent hazards and maintain system reliability. Please contact your DNO (Distribution Network Operator) to review and adjust your voltages if necessary. If you are still experiencing issues after speaking to your DNO please contact Project EV customer service.
