How To: Reconnect my charger to wifi using the ProjectEV+ app

We'll walk you through how to reconnect your EV charger to a new Wi-Fi network via the Project EV+ app, using either the automatic or manual connection method

 

  1. Ensure you have your wifi name and password to hand, either as a photo or a card
  2. Turn the charger off at the mains and keep off for now
  3. Turn your mobile data/4G/5G off on your phone for this process.
  4. Select settings in the bottom left
  5. Select connection mode
  6. Choose connect by wifi.
  7. Choose connect manually or connect automatically.
  8. If choosing connect automatically, then please turn the charger back on and stand next to he charger for the remainder of this process.
  9. Wait for 90 seconds, then select connect automatically. Your phone will search for the charger’s hotspot. It may say failed a few times before connecting. If it connects, then go to step 16
  10. If choosing connect manually, select 'go to WLAN' at the top, this should open your wifi page in your phone.
  11. Turn the charger back on, and stand next to the charger for the rest of this process
  12. Connect to the charger's wifi hotspot, listed as it's serial number. It will show the wifi hotspot within 5 minutes. The password is 12345678
  13. It will say there is no internet connection once you have connected to it.
  14. Once connected successfully, please go back to the Project EV+ app
  15. Select next.
  16. Enter the wifi name and password, ensure they match exactly.
  17. Select the setting tab, then expand the server parameter and enter the following url: ws://project-ev.com/ocpp/ws
  18. Press save. The charger will then restart with the new settings and should come online soon.
